Aerospace’s leave policies are designed to help employees when career and personal situations collide.

Requesting a Leave of Absence

There are a number of reasons you may need to request leave from work, many of them having to do with your health or the health of a loved one, or perhaps you’re welcoming a new child into your family. We know work/life balance is important at these critical times, which is why Aerospace offers generous leave of absence benefits—paid and unpaid—to our employees.

By formally requesting certain types of leave you may be able to ensure job protection, as well as wage replacement and continuation of benefits.

The process for some types of leave, particularly those administered by the state, can take time. We suggest you start the claim process immediately to minimize delays.

First Steps:

  1. Notify your manager of your request (you do not have to disclose medical information). 
  2. File a formal request with The Hartford (888.980.9382). 
  3. If this is a work-related illness or injury, immediately contact the Security Control Center (24/7) at 310.336.6520 for El Segundo or 571.304.7220 in Chantilly.

What is The Hartford?

The Hartford is Aerospace’s third party leave administrator. They collect and process information about leaves of absence on behalf of Aerospace. We work with The Hartford to help ensure the confidentiality of your personal situation and streamline the leave process.
